Job Description

Osano is hiring an empathetic, driven Sales Engineer looking to make a difference at an early-stage startup that is shaping the fast-growing privacy industry. 

In this role, you’ll gain an intimate knowledge of our customers, data set, and privacy application to assess privacy pain points and design delightful solutions. Reporting to the Customer Experience Manager, you’ll assist with the selling of our suite of products, and maintain an extensive knowledge of the products' parts, functions, and processes to help educate new customers throughout their lifecycle. 

To be successful as a Sales Engineer at Osano, you should possess an in-depth knowledge of our technical products as well as maintain an in-depth knowledge of general, global privacy laws and policies, and be able to relate this knowledge in a way that is understandable to non-technical customers.

The Role
  • Collaborate with the customer implementation and sales team to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
  • Prepare technical presentations to explain our company's products or services to customers.
  • Answer Request for Information and Security questionnaires related to potential prospects.
  • Delight the customer with quick responses to their technical queries.  
  • Manage technical escalation for prospects + customers before escalating questions to the Engineering team.
  • Identify areas for improvement and communicate these issues along with possible solutions to upper management.
  • Train the sales team on the technical aspects of the company's products and services.
About You
  • 3+ years experience in a technical sales, technical support, or engineering role
  • You’re a clear and pleasant communicator with the ability to relay technical information to non-technical customers.
  • Excellent technical and problem-solving skills.
  • You’re optimistic, and motivated to help customers be successful; customer-service experience is a plus. 
  • Basic knowledge of client-side languages𑁋Javascript, CSS, HTML, and understanding of how coding works. 
  • Experience working in software development or with technical teams throughout the software development process. 
  • Exposure to Hubspot CRM/Service Hub or similar applications to connect with customers. 
  • You're interested in data privacy. Even better if you already have a CIPM, CIPP, or CIPT certification.
  • Lastly, you should thrive in a remote environment. For us, that means being curious, proactively communicating, and bringing ingenuity and initiative every day.

Compensation
Depending on your skill, experience, and quota capacity, you can expect your annual on-target earnings to be somewhere between $135,000 and $150,000 upon joining the company. In addition, you'll also receive stock options.
