Sales Engineer
Full Time Remote

Job Description

Osano is hiring an empathetic, driven Sales Engineer looking to make a difference at an early-stage startup that is shaping the fast-growing privacy industry. In this role, you’ll gain an intimate knowledge of our customers, data set, and privacy application to assess their pain points to design delightful solutions. Reporting to the Director of Customer, you’ll assist with the selling of our suite of products, and maintain an extensive knowledge of our platform’s products, features, and processes to educate new + existing customers throughout their partnership with Osano.  

To be successful as a Sales Engineer at Osano, you should possess an in-depth knowledge of  technical products, an understanding of customer-facing code language, and be able to relate knowledge in a way that is understandable to non-technical customers. Experience working with back-end systems, security policies, and firewalls, as well as an interest in data privacy, will serve you well in this role.

The Role
  • Collaborate with the customer implementation, customer sucess, and sales teams  to understand customer requirements and provide sales and customer support. 
  • Prepare technical presentations to explain our company's products or services to customers. 
  • Assist the Customer Success team with upgrade and expansion motions. 
  • Answer Request For Information (RFPs) and Security questionnaires related to potential prospects. 
  • Delight the customer with quick responses to their technical queries.   
  • Manage technical escalation for prospects + customers before escalating questions to the Engineering team. 
  • Identify areas for improvement and communicate these issues along with possible solutions to upper management. 
  • Train the sales team on the technical aspects of the company's products and services. 
About You
  • 3+ years experience in a technical sales, technical support, or sales engineering role.  
  • You have some experience working with content security policies, firewalls, and other backend systems. You may also have your CompTIA+ Security certification. 
  • You're interested in data privacy and want to be an expert in this booming industry. Even better if you already have your CIPT certification. 
  • You’re a clear and thoughtful communicator with the ability to relay technical information to non-technical customers. 
  • You are a natural problem-solver. You enjoy getting to the bottom of a question, issue or request and providing robust, actionable solutions. 
  • You’ve worked with Hubspot’s CRM + Service Hub (or similar systems) to connect with customers. 
  • You’re motivated by helping customers be successful and optimistic when handling questions. You're also comfortable reviewing paperwork (RFPs and Security questionnaires) so new or expansion deals move forward. Prior experience in Sales or Customer Service is a plus.  
  • You have basic knowledge of client-side languages𑁋Javascript, CSS, HTML, and an understanding of how coding works. You've also worked with AWS or other hosting services.  
  • You have some experience working in software development or with technical teams throughout the software development process.

Depending on your skill, experience, and quota capacity, you can expect your annual on-target earnings to be somewhere between $135,000 and $150,000 upon joining the company. In addition, you'll also receive stock options.
