Vendor risk monitoring

Monitoring vendors is no longer an optional task. Regulators have the power, under certain laws, to fine organizations for their vendors' practices.

Osano attorneys have reviewed more than 14,000 vendors' privacy practices and can tell you who's doing privacy well and who's falling short. You're trusting vendors with your customers' data, so it's important you protect yourself and decide whether they deserve that trust.

Data sharing is prolific and fast. Once it’s out, you can’t get it back. Because your vendors have vendors who have vendors, it’s almost certain that sharing data with a single vendor leads to dozens of other companies possessing copies of that data.

It's part of the modern technology landscape and an unavoidable situation. What’s not unavoidable is whether you can prove that you were doing your best to keep a watchful eye on your data supply chain.

Did you know that when the Department of Justice evaluates whether to file criminal charges against a company, one of the key elements they consider is whether the company was monitoring their vendors effectively?

Osano makes it easy to track the compliance ratings for all of your vendors. Our rating ontology of 163 items maps closely to NIST and ISO frameworks.

Protect your company and protect yourself with Osano's sophisticated vendor monitoring platform.

How Osano Calculates Risk

Osano privacy attorneys assisted by machine learning technology read all of the compliance documents that a company publishes. Using a proprietary and objective 163 point methodology, the attorneys identify all of the data practices and risk factors for the company.

Number 1

Based on the attorney's answers, Osano calculate a risk score in each important area of privacy practices relative to all other companies in the database. The score is recalculated each night.

Number 1

Each night, Osano's search spider crawls each document for the company. If the company changes its practices, our spider identifies the change and determines whether the change is substantial, which triggers our attorneys to re-review the company.
