Hello all, and happy Thursday!
One of the things that we see at Osano when talking to businesses is that they see investing in privacy solutions as important, but not urgent. And for businesses that aren’t based out of a region with active privacy enforcement like the EU, that assessment has been accurate.
But that’s changing.
In the US, more and more state privacy laws are coming online, and one of our stories this week calls out a surefire leading indicator of increased privacy enforcement: Hiring.
State regulators are on a hiring frenzy, especially for individuals with technical backgrounds. If privacy laws aren’t enforced, then they may as well not exist—and it looks like state regulators are planning to do some enforcing.
This enforcement bellwether is important, but I have another important message I want to cover in today’s intro.
You may have heard of a pretty significant change taking place at Osano. I am stepping away from my role as CEO at Osano and stepping into another: Chief Innovation Officer.
In this role, I’ll focus on building new, innovative products from the ground up so Osano can solve both today’s and tomorrow’s privacy challenges. Meanwhile, our new CEO, Bobby Jaffari, will steer the ship as we continue to grow and scale.
I’ll continue to write this email, so you’re not rid of me yet. 😉
If you want to learn more about this transition, scroll down to check out the blog post I wrote on the subject.
Best,
Arlo
